Whatever your views on option 5 can anyone now say that the Council;

- WILL NOT still close primary/rural schools on mass.

- WILL NOT still create super size high schools.

If you can declare this then you must be able to see the future.

I’m not sure where you get that idea from, one lady, who has made her feelings very clear, has been absolutely slated for moving here and then trying hard to keep schools open.

Other ‘Overnors’ have been trying extremely hard in the background to support the SOS campaign.

Do you not think that the schools system is one of the reason that people ‘did’ move here?

We know the issues that these bigger schools can bring and we made a big change to move here, we certainly are not screaming for change now we are here… Well at least not to the schools, maybe some things do need to change though and I witnessed about 28 last night!

How many parents who are supporting these changes have moved to the Island in recent years and now want to change the school system here on the Island to what they had on the mainland?

It never surprises me that the ones that shout the loudest are the ones that moved here because they wanted the Island way of life and within five minutes are screaming for change.

Vanessa do you not understand that it is “every last detail” which is so important as this is what will cause the chaos and turmoil that will wreck our childrens’ educations! How can anyone want their children to go through turmoil?

It despairs me the naivety of “patient observer” and Vanessa. Nobody is looking for “pleasing”. That’s not what we expect from leaders. What we want is respect for democracy, transparency, consistency and honesty from our so called “leaders”. The point is : The Questionnaire was a fraude. The whole consultation process was a fraude. We are talking about the worst council in the country - confirmed by statistics. The Option 5 is just a delay tactic - a bit of honey in our mouths.

Hear hear Patient Observer - nice to see someone talking some sense at long last. The council were never going to be able to please everyone, but it seems to me that by bringing this 5th option in at the final hour they’ve done their best to try and strike a happy medium. It’s just sad that some people in this world are never satisfied. Hopefully the majority will start looking forward to the positive now rather than constantly sniping and moaning on about every last detail.

Parents would have answered the questionnaire completely differently if they hadn’t involved massive school closures or lies about funding and results.
