Great article. Let’s hope more nationals get on the bandwagon and we stay in the spotlight.

Couldn’t agree more. Journalists feed off other journalists so this could really help focus national attention on Saturday’s march.

“Thousands of people have attended rallies outside council buildings in the island’s main town, Newport.”

    Thousands??? Rallies???

“Public meetings, staged as part of the council’s consultation process, were so full that people had to be turned away”

    Was that one or two???

The highest standards of the yellow press in operation again

In case you have not read the available material:
“Ten public consultation events were held in different venues across the island. Then total number of attendees 2455. The highest attendance was 369 at Cowes High School with 348 at Ventnor Middle School. The lowest attendance was 125 at Swanmore Middle with 210 at Forelands Middle and 227 at Medina High. 36 people were turned away at Osborne (first meeting) with seven turned away at Forelands and four turned away at Ventnor. All other meetings accommodated all attended.”

    Rallies???
The big one & the smaller Friday one - therefore plural

    Thousands???
An order of magnitude between ‘Hundreds’, and ‘Tens of Thousands’.
